Google’s Newly Improved AI Search Engine

After months of us and many others calling on Google to include links in their new AI Search Engine, SGE, Google has gone and done it. The links aim to provide more navigability, but some variants can be confusing. While an improvement over having no links at all, the links are not yet a finished product and clearly require some further thought from the team at Google.

Below are two types of results page you can generate using SGE. As you can see, neither look particularly tidy and you could argue that the second one, whilst providing clear links to the source, looks cluttered and confusing.

Google's Project Gemini, coming later this year, will likely improve search results further (we hope 🤞).

Stay tuned for more enhancements to Google search. There is no doubt that Google will soon make this tool phenomenal and continue to dominate the world of web searches. We’ll be right here waiting.

OpenAI Announces Latest Updates to ChatGPT

OpenAI has announced several updates rolling out over the next few weeks to enhance ChatGPT’s capabilities. This includes new prompt examples (see below) that showcase what ChatGPT can do - an important step in our opinion as most people are still not sure how to get the best out of this tool.

The prompt examples demonstrate the best ways to use ChatGPT via effective prompts. This unlocks the full potential versus just conversational chat and should be helpful for those looking to get more out of the tool.

Prompting is key to truly harnessing ChatGPT's capabilities and we’ll be sharing more on how to master prompting in the coming weeks.

Another interesting update allows users to upload multiple files using the code interpreter. This enables advanced insights by comparing data sets and finding correlations between documents. Brilliant for anyone that handles a lot of reporting and analysis. Think of how many hours could be saved!

Other minor updates include suggested replies, switching to ChatGPT-4 by default, the ability to stay logged in (hurrah!) and keyboard shortcuts for faster navigation.

Salesforce Releases 8th Annual State of Marketing Report: AI Isn’t “A Fad”!

Here is a summary of key points from the Salesforce 8th Edition State of Marketing report on AI adoption:

  • 68% of marketers now have a fully defined AI strategy, up 11% from 2021, showing AI is no fad.

  • 90% are using AI to automate customer interactions.

  • 88% are using AI to personalise customer experiences.

  • 74% are using AI to predict customer behaviour and improve segmentation.

Key takeaways:

  • Leading marketers are investing heavily in AI adoption.

  • Customer interaction and gaining insights are the most popular AI uses today.

  • AI is being used to scale current efforts with existing resources. It helps marketers maximise speed and effectiveness without necessarily expanding teams or budgets.

Overall, marketers are clearly taking AI very seriously and rapidly incorporating it into their tech stack. It’s clear that AI has become an useful tool for customer engagement, insights and efficient scaling.

Not bad for “a fad” 😉
